Several tantalizing deviations from Standard Model expectations have emerged in decays of B mesons in recent years. I review the status of these “B anomalies” after updated measurements presented at the Moriond conference in spring 2019. I will show that a global likelihood function in the space of dimension-6 Wilson coefficients of the Effective Field Theory beyond the SM – the “global SMEFT likelihood” – is a powerful tool to connect the observed deviations with specific new physics models.
