Abstract
I am going to present the results recently published by the LIGO Scientific and Virgo Collaborations about the analysis of 16 days of data taking including the direct detection of gravitational waves emitted by a binary black hole coalescence. After describing the detection and how astrophysical parameter are extracted from it, I will discuss the tests of General Relativity that can be conducted and the impact of the detection on astrophysics.
